January 29: A young leopard has been killed after it got caught in a trap near Chasa village under Toeb geog in Punakha.

The trap was set up by a farmer to prevent wild animals from attacking his crop.

The leopard is believed to be about three to four years old. The incident took place on Tuesday night.

The matter was reported to the forestry office in Thinleygang the next day.

The District Forestry Officer of Wangduephodrang said the body of the leopard has been handed over to forestry officials.
