Woman found dead in a hotel in Phuentsholing

December 19: Police in Phuentsholing are investigating the death of a woman in a hotel. The body was discovered by the cleaner of the hotel at around 7:30 am on Wednesday, December 17. The cleaner immediately informed the owner of the Bongo Hotel. The hotel owner then reported the matter to the police.

The hotel owner told BBS that the deceased had checked in with two men the night before. But the two men were not found in the morning. The hotel owner said the gate of the hotel opens only at 6 am.

The hotel owner suspects that the two men could have escaped around this time.

The hotel owner said they ask their customers to produce citizenship identity card at the time of check-in. The hotel owner said the men were drunk at the time of check in.

The hotel owner said the two men took offence when asked to produce their citizenship identity cards. They gave the numbers but refused to show their CID cards.

Following the incident, when the CID numbers were checked, they were found to be incorrect.

Police are investigating the case.
