April 5: A 35-year-old woman who was injured in an accident in Trashigang last week has died. She died on Saturday at the Monggar Regional Referral hospital.

Doctors said she died of multiple fracture and internal brain damage.

Including four children, there were nine people in the Maruti van. They were all injured in the accident. Six had to be admitted in the hospital. Four have been discharged. One is still undergoing treatment. Doctors said he is stable and recovering.

They were returning to Monggar from Nganglam where they had gone to cast votes for the National Assembly elections.

The accident occurred at Dongdungman last Wednesday. The Maruti van fell about 128 meters below the road.
