October 11: The convocation for the graduates of Future Generation, a nonprofit educational institution based in West Virginia, United States was held in Thimphu, yesterday.
The convocation was co-hosted by the Tarayana foundation.
The ceremony was graced by Her Majesty the Queen Ashi
Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the president of the Tarayana Foundation.
Her Majesty awarded Tashi Khadar to the 11 graduates of the Future Generation Graduate School of the Applied Community Change and Conservation.
The graduates are from Bhutan, India, Canada, USA, Vietnam, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda and Czech Republic The degree certificates were awarded by the chairman of the board of the school Mr. Bill Carmichael.
The course is a blend of online and residential learning. This means the students work on their assignments online and work in communities in different countries.
This is being done to learn and gain experience from other communities.
