Two men caught for possessing drugs |
September 25: A business man from Wangduephodrang was caught on September 20 at the Tanalum checkpost for possessing illegal substance.
He was carrying 284 relipen tablets, 9 bottles of corex and 14 N10 tablets.
On September 14, another man, a civil servant was also caught at the Chuzom check post with 38 relipen tablets, 23 N10 tablets and a bottle of Corex.
If the two men are found guilty they could be charged for felony of second degree with minimum of nine years of imprisonment according to the Bhutan penal code.
Police say they arrested 206 people for drug related cases from January till the of September 21 this year.
Marijuana is the commonly abused drugs followed by correction fluid.
Of the 206 arrested, 183 were youths.
