November 22: Police in Damphu, Tsirang have arrested four men between the ages of 22 and 27 on suspicion of attempted rape. The incident is believed to have taken place on the night of November 19.

According to a teacher of Mendaygang Middle Secondary School, he was walking along the road with a student when he heard the woman scream for help.

Looking in the direction of the scream, he found a car parked by the side of the road and four men attempting to rape the woman just below the car.He said thinking that they would be easily overpowered by the four men, he went to look for help and came back with three other teachers.

When they arrive on the spot, the four men were still there. He said when they shouted and ran towards them, the four men ran away. They then immediately reported the matter to the police and had the four suspects arrested.

Dr. Thinley Norbu in his medical examination report confirmed forceful attempted penetration.

Our reporter says the woman and the four men were all under the influence of alcohol and were travelling in the same car.
