Trashi Yangtse gets second NC candidate

December 15: Trashi Yangtse dzongkhag has one more National Council candidate. The dzongkhag now has two NC candidates.
The second candidate, Ugyen Wangdi, is a 2006 graduate from Shillong, India. He was nominated by the people of Yangtse gewog on December 13.
More than 200 people turned up for the village meeting. The dzongkhag Electoral Officer said Ugyen Wangdi should file his nomination papers to the returning officer before November 25.
The other candidate from Trashi Yangtse is 55 year old Kesang Namgyal from Yalang gewog. The NC election in Trashi Yangtse and Gasa, Haa, Lhuentse and Thimphu has been postponed to January 29, 2008 for lack of candidates.
The election in the remaining 15 dzongkhags will be held as scheduled on December 31. |
