September 13: Police at Chuzom check post have seized tobacco products worth about Nu. 75,000 on Thursday afternoon.
The seized products include 5 sacks of chewing tobacco and three cartoons containing cigarettes and other tobacco products.
It was caught at around 2:30 pm yesterday. The consignment was being smuggled in a DCM truck. The vehicle was on its way to Thimphu from Phuentsholing.
The consignment belongs to the driver who owns a shop in Thimphu.
Police said the tobacco products were concealed under vegetable sacks. Police have detained the driver.
