Thro-tum wins annual national autumn archery tournament

November 26: Thro-tum has won the annual national autumn archery tournament. They defeated DL Chuchi in two straight games.

The victory was swift and easy. Thro-tum won the first match on November 24. The second match was continued yesterday morning but before midday, it was over.

Watched by hundreds of spectators, Thro-tum, led by His Royal Highness Dasho Khamsum Singye Wangchuck took on DL Chuchi in the final match.

The prizes were awarded by Her Royal Highness Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck.

The winning team walked away with the rolling trophy and a cash prize of 3,000 for each player.

Members of runners up received 2,000 each. Kinley Sithup from Thro-tum was declared the best archer. He received Nu. 10,000.

The prize for highest Dobjay or double hits went to Tashi Dawa of RSTA. He recieved Nu. 7,000.

Kinzang from DL Chuchi was named the man of the match and he was awarded Nu. 5,000.

Kinzang Wangdi from Netenchudru received Nu. 3,000 as the prize for highest karey in one day.

Organized by Bhutan Archery Federation, the tournament began on October 27 with 25 teams from all over the country taking part in it.

Talo-Nobgang, the winners last year, did not participate in the tournament. Last year’s runners up, Thimphu United, was knocked out in the semi finals.
