Three killed in an accident

January 26: Three people have died in a vehicle accident at Pelala about 62 kilometers from the Wangdue police station. They were on their way to Thimphu from Trongsa. The accident is believed to have taken place on January 23.

Their bodies were found the next day by local people who informed a telecom security guard who then informed the police.

The truck they were traveling in was found about 200 feet below the road. The driver was in his mid thirties. The other two, a married couple, were in their mid forties.

Police said the cause of the accident is not clear. The accident took place on the day of the first snowfall.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man died on the spot when the Toyota Qualis he was traveling in went off the road in Pasakha. The accident occurred at around 10:00pm on January 24.

Including the driver, there were five people in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident is not known.
