September 01:With the rapid development in the tourism industry and the number of hotels increasing, hoteliers in the capital are discussing the formation of an association.

Hoteliers in the capital said there is now a need for an association to improve service and discuss common problems. They hope to form an association by the end of this year.

The talks are being initiated by a few major hoteliers. They said the association will be open to all hoteliers and will attract a large number of members.

The association will strive to promote professionalism in the Bhutanese hospitality sector. It will also try to promote and develop the tourism and travel Industry.

The members have drafted a memorandum for the association outlining the purpose and objective of the association. After discussions and rectification, the memorandum will be submitted to the government for approval.
