October 13: The weeklong Thri Lung ceremony in Tsirang ended yesterday with Tse-wang or blessings for life to the public. More than 3,000 people turned up everyday for the Ka-wang administered by His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
Our correspondent, Bumpa Wangdi says some stayed in pitched tents while others lived with local residents and in hotels.
Meanwhile shopkeepers are doing brisk business. They told our reporter that they sold mostly religious items and grocery.
On Thursday, His Holiness conducted Tse-thar for nine cows which were being taken to be slaughtered.
To save their life, His Holiness the Je Khenpo and devotees attending the Thri Lung ceremony donated money to purchase the cows.
The Dzongkhag Tse-thar Tshogpa will look after the cows. The Tshogpa already has more than 200 cows in Goseling gewog.
The Thri Lung Ceremony will be followed by a Meonlam Chenmo which will begin today.
