May 18: Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuck, launched a photo book exhibit in the Netherlands earlier this month.                                                                     

The exhibition entitled 'Simply Bhutan', features photographs taken by Ms Justina Han from the Netherlands.

Their Royal Highnesses Ashi Euphelma Choden Wangchuck and Prince Ugyen Jigme Wangchuck also attended the exhibition.
                                     
The photographs are images from Justina Han’s book, which is dedicated to the people of Bhutan for welcoming her with grace.                                

More than a hundred people including the Mayor of the city of Laren gathered at the launch of the book.                                                           

The proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards Youth Development Fund (YDF).

The Ambassador of Bhutan to the Netherlands, Sonam Tobden Rabgye, said that Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s visit has not only raised awareness of the YDF but also enhanced relations between the two countries, particularly in view of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuck’s meeting at the Hague Palace on 7th May.
 
Ambassador Rabgye said that the visit to Bhutan by HRH the Crown Prince William Alexander and Princess Maxima in October 2007 was also another important event that helped to bring the two countries closer.
