Shari gewog's NC candidate- Ugyen Tshering

November 23: The People of Shari gewog in Paro Dzongkhag have nominated Ugyen Tshering a former General Manager of BBS as their National Council Candidate. More than 250 people gathered at the Shari Gup’s office to nominate the candidate.

Beginning the nomination proceedings, they raised their hands in unison to show support for his candidature.

Ugyen Tshering has a bachelor’s degree from Sherubtse College. He has undergone a film editing course with the Film and Television Institute of India and post graduate course in film studies from the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

After 16 years of service he resigned as the General Manager of Program and Production Department of the Bhutan Broadcasting Service.

Ugyen Tshering said he was overwhelmed by the support from the people of his gewog. However he said his responsibility will not only be with the people of his gewog but all the gewogs in Paro and the nation at large.
