Security at the centenary ground ensured, says CICCC

Measures are being put in place to ensure that the celebrations at the centenary ground in the capital will be trouble free. The centenary ground will be the venue of non stop celebrations for 42 days with about 15,000 visitors expected everyday.

The Citizen’s Initiative for Coronation and Centenary Celebrations (CICCC) says the safety and security of the people has been ensured.

The centenary ground for the coronation and centenary celebration is almost ready with major civil works complete. Finishing touches are being given to the stalls and the grand stage.

The Organizer, Citizen’s Initiative for Coronation and Centenary Celebrations says every possible measure is being taken to ensure safety and security on the ground.

45 private security personnel along with the Royal Bhutan Police will be placed all over the ground. CCTV security cameras will also be put up at the ground.

The celebration and fair at the centenary ground will start on the November 6- the day of the coronation of His Majesty the King. The events during the day include exhibitions, trade fair, sale and public awareness campaign. Musical shows, light, sound and magic shows on the grand stage will take place in the evenings.

Major events at the ground will be telecast live by BBS. Media gallery with telephone and internet facilities is also being put up.
