November 27: The former regional secretary of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nechu has been nominated as the National Council candidate of Saling gewog in Monggar.

He was nominated at a gewog meeting held on Saturday. Over 500 people turned up for the meeting.

With this, Monggar Dzongkhag has four National Council nominees.

42-year-old Nechu is from Masangdaza village under Saling Gewog. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in commerce from Sherubtse College in 1991.

Our reporter Karma Tenzin says the Chief Dzongkhag Election Officer briefed the gathering on the democratization process during the meeting.

Dzongda Lhab Dorji also highlighted the importance of electing capable and competent candidates who will best serve the people and country.
