July 29: The 15th SAARC summit is scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from August 2-3.

The summit will be preceded by the meetings of the 30th session of the Council of Ministers from July 31 to August 1, the 35th session of the standing committee of foreign secretaries from July 29-30 and the 33rd session of the programming committee of senior officials from July 27-28.

The Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley will lead the Bhutanese delegation to the summit. He will be accompanied by the Foreign Minister Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering, Foreign Secretary Yeshey Dorji, and other senior government officials.

The leaders of SAARC will adopt a declaration on the conclusion of the summit. The declaration contains crucial policy directives in addition to approval of recommendations contained in various ministerial reports and highlight issues that require focused attention by the SAARC member states.
