September 3: (Gelephu road block update) The block at Osay, 29 kilometres from Gelephu on the Gelephu-Zhemgang highway has finally been cleared yesterday.

The heavy rainfall last Monday and the following day washed away the road at Osay. About 40 vehicles, which were stranded at the site finally made their way to Zhemgang and Gelephu.

The Zhemgang Gelephu highway was blocked at several points following heavy rainfall on Monday. Two major blocks occurred at Boxcutting, 15 kilometres from Gelephu and at Osay, 29 kilometers from Gelephu.

The block at boxcutting was cleared on Wednesday. Meanwhile the officials from the department of roads are cautioning motorists to be careful as it is still risky to use the road.
