February 27: By 2013, the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) plans to transform all of its 10 colleges bringing in innovative programme as per the needs of the country. The Royal University of Bhutan will provide around 14 Masters programme and at least one PhD programme by 2013.

A compact to this effect was signed between the Royal University of Bhutan and the Education Minister yesterday.

In 2009, there were only one Masters programme offered by the university.

This according to the Vice Chancellor, Dasho Pema Thinley, will enhance the growth and development in the country.

Apart from this the University will provide seats up to 18% of its total capacity for continuing education.

Meanwhile the University will increase its total student’s capacity from 4,926 in 2009 to 9,000 students by 2013.
