March 17: The vice chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) Dasho Pema Thinley said the university is planning to introduce Mass Communication including journalism at Sherubtse College in Kanglung, Trashigang.

He was speaking at a meeting in Paro which was convened to brainstorm the role of BBS and the media in parliamentary democracy. He said graduates with Mass Communication knowledge are required not only for the growing Bhutanese media but also for the private sector and government agencies.

He said the RUB is at the moment studying the possibility of introducing the course including the course module.
