RSTA arranges transport facility for voters

March 13: The Road Safety and Transport Authority (RSTA) has registered nine additional buses, two trucks and three DCM trucks so that voters can travel to their respective constituencies to vote in the National Assembly elections. They will be used from March 21.

The Chief Transport officer Bola Gyeltshen of RSTA said the vehicles were registered after they were thoroughly inspected for public safety.

The trucks will carry 35 passengers and the DCM trucks will carry only 25 passengers. The RSTA has also requested for four to five buses from the Bhutan Post and will be registering buses and trucks from interested public.

The RSTA is also facing shortage of drivers. All the regional transport officers in the country have been directed to issue permits and help organize transport for the public to all the polling stations.
