Properties of former AWP's Managing Director auctioned

The properties of former Managing Director of Army Welfare Project (AWP), retired Major Pem Tshering, were auctioned off in the capital on Saturday, March 8 to recover the money he has embezzled.

A four storied building, a two double storied building, and two Shopping rooms in a building in Phuentsholing, a three storied building and a bungalow in Samtse town, a 50 decimal land near AWP area in Samtse, a 3.38 acre wet land at Pelrithang in Gelephug, and dry land measuring around three acres at Pemathang in Gelephu. A Prado, a Hilux, a Mercedes car. These were the properties for sale at the auction.

The four storied building and the two flats in Phuentsholing, the 50-decimal land in Samtse and three acre dry land in Gelephu, the Toyota Prado, the Hilux and the Mercedes car were sold at the auction.

The remaining properties could not get the price fixed by the committee. Officials from the Office of Attorney General, Road Safety Transport Authority, Army Welfare Project, Ministry of Finance and Royal Bhutan Army monitored the auction.
