January 20: Civil servants will get a 35 percent pay raise. This is good news. But corporate employees, especially those working for public service corporations, are wondering what’s going to happen to them. Will they benefit from the windfall? The answer is yes. But it is not automatic and it is going to take time.

The Finance Minister Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu said the salary for corporate bodies has not been included in the report.

He said the salary revision for corporations will have to be worked out separately.
