November 27: All the passengers who were injured in the bus accident in Hungtsho on November 25 afternoon have been discharged after receiving treatment at the National referral hospital.

Nine passengers were injured in the accident. Except for one passenger, all the passengers were sent home on November 25 itself after receiving treatment.

The only passenger who was kept under observation overnight has been discharged yesterday. The accident took place at around 4 p.m. on November 25.

It has been attributed to brake failure but some passengers said the accident could have occurred due to over speeding.

They said the driver was unable to control the bus when he saw an approaching truck. The truck driver however said the bus was probably experiencing a mechanical failure.

The bus was coming from Punakha to Thimphu carrying 31 passengers.
