PM receives Global Human Resource Strategic and Iconic Leader Award


February 14: The award is in recognition of his contribution to Human Resource Development (HRD) in the Kingdom.

The award, consisting of a trophy and a citation, was given at the Global Human Resource Excellence Awards function organized as part of the World HRD Congress held in India’s commercial hub, Mumbai.

The Prime Minister was invited as the chief guest and keynote speaker at the congress which is a gathering of hundreds of human resource leaders from around the globe.

In a day-long award ceremony on Friday, the Prime Minister also gave away the prestigious JRD Tata HR Leadership Award to Lynda Gratton, professor of management practices at London Business School.

Lynda Gratton is a renowned human resource specialist and listed as one of the top 20 thinkers in 2008 by The Times newspaper.

Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley gave away several other awards, including the chief executive officer CEO of the year awards to the Managing Director of LG Electronics Ltd, Mr. Moon B. Shin, the Chairman of Coal India Ltd, Mr. Partha Sarathi Bhattacharjee, the chairman and managing director of Industrial Development Bank of India, Mr. Yogesh Agarwal, and the Managing Director of Blue Dart Express Ltd. Mr. Anil Khanna.
