October 13: The members of the People’s Democratic Party met the people of Khamdang Gewog, Trashiyangtse on Thursday. People of Khamdang gewog gathered at Tsenkarla to attend the People’s Democratic Party’s meeting.

Briefing the gathering, the PDP president, Sangay Ngedup said if elected PDP will focus on providing schools, hospitals and communication facilities in rural areas.

He said the party will also open rural banks in the gewogs for farmers. He said PDP will also look into the possibilities of promoting tourism and hydropower in the eastern Dzongkhags.

Also during the meeting, the party’s candidates from Khamdang-Ramjar and Bumdeling-Jamkhar constituencies were introduced to the gathering.

Sonam Dendup, who previously worked with the department of tourism is representing Khamdang-Ramjar constituency.

Namgay is PDP’s Bumdeling-Jamkhar constituency.

The party also hosted breakfast and lunch for the people who came to attend the briefing and screened a documentary during the meetings.
