March 11: The People’s Democratic Party has nominated Tshering Dolkar from Juprey village under Bhur gewog in Sarpang Dzongkhag as its candidate from the Gelephu constituency for the 2008 National Assembly elections.

Tshering Dolkar has a Masters in Counseling and Educational Foundation from the University of New Brunswick, Canada, and University of Phoenix, USA. She obtained her BA from Sherubtse College, and Post Graduate Certificate in Education from NIE Samtse.

Tshering Dolkar started her 15 years of service in the royal government as a teacher in Drukgyel High School in Paro, following which she worked in various positions in the Department of youth and sports in the Ministry of Education including her last post as Chief of the Career Education and Counseling Division.
