December 20: The gewog administration in Khamdang gewog, Trashi Yangtse is investigating a written complaint accusing PDP party workers of conducting a meeting in the Lhakhang, involving religious personalities and grassroots leaders in politics, and offering Tsho Sha in the Lhakhang.

The complaint was submitted in writing to the dzongkhag authority by DPT party workers and the people of Khamdang gewog in November.

It says the PDP Khamdang Ramjar constituency candidate Sonam Dendup accompanied by other party workers organized a meeting in Shakshing Goenba Lhakhang on November 14.

It says they had a pig slaughtered on the occasion and with the help of the Lhakhang caretaker, two lay monks, and the Chepoen of Brenglung village offered Tsho and Tsho Sha at the Lhakhang.

The complaint letter says the next day on November 15, they offered Tsho and performed soelkha at the Darchen Lhakhang.

The PDP coordinator in Khamdang gewog Sangay Tempa said since Shakshing Goenba is centrally located, they organized the familiarization meeting for Karmazom, Domtshang, and Daka in Shakshing Goenba.

He said they did offer Tsho but denied offering Tsho Sha. Other PDP party workers, the chipoen of Brenglung Dorji Wangdi, and the Lhakhang caretaker Namgang also denied offering Tsho Sha.

However DPT Party workers including the gewog coordinator Jamtsho and some of the villagers insist that the meeting was conducted in the Lhakhang and offering of Tsho and Tsho Sha were made on the occasion.

The case is being investigated by the Khamdang gewog administration.
