November 15: The Royal Civil Service Common examination began yesterday. About 744 graduates are sitting for the examination this year. Of that the RCSC will be taking in only about 350 graduates.
Due to the growing number, this year the examination this year is being held in five different places.
It is 12:30 pm and the graduates are anxious and nervous. The examination begins at 1 pm. This is one of the most important examinations in their life. Those who get selected will not only have a secure job, they will have a head start over their colleagues.
Around 744 graduates have registered for the examination this year. Of that 586 are general graduates and 158 are technical graduates.
The RCSC will take in 35 graduates each for postgraduate diploma in public administration and postgraduate diploma in financial management, 54 as lecturers, 145 as teachers and about 90 technical graduates.
Due to growing number of graduates every year this year the examination is being held at five different venues, Lungtenzampa middle secondary school, Yangchenphu higher secondary school, kelki higher secondary school, Motithang higher secondary school and the swimming pool.
While some graduates are flipping through the pages for the last minute preparation others are into serious discussions.
While some are confident, others are taking the examination and the competition in positive light. Many said the competition is tough, it will get tougher, but they are ready to face the challenge.
The Civil Service Common Examination will end on 16th November. The results will be declared on the 12th of December, 2007.
