Nanong geog in Pemagatshel to soon have a farm road

The people of Nanong geog in Pemagatshel will soon have a new farm road. The 10 kilometer farm road between Ngangshing village and the Wongcheelu Primary school is expected to benefit over 500 households.

The construction of the 10 kilometer farm road is expected to complete by the end of this year.

Our reporter Tenzin Dorji says the people of Nanong, Pangthang, Zangree and Borphu villages usually walk for a day just to get to the nearest road head to travel either to Samdrup Jongkhar or Trashigang.

Villagers told BBS that due of the absence of a proper road they have not been able to market their agricultural produce.

Sangay a villager from Zangree village said although the farmers produce a variety of vegetables and fruit without a proper road it is not possible to reap the financial benefits from their hard labor.

Now, with the farm road expected to complete in a few months time, villagers are hopeful that it will help improve their living standard.

The arm road is being constructed with financial assistance from the Agriculture Marketing and Enterprise Promotion Program in Khangma, Trashigang.
