NC public debate dates for five remaining Dzongkhags announced

January 12: The Election Commission has announced the dates for public debates for the National Council (NC) candidates in the five remaining Dzongkhags.

The debates will kickoff with Thimphu Dzongkhag on Monday, January 14. It will be followed by debate in Haa on the January 16, Lhuntse on January 18 and Gasa on January 19. It will conclude in Trashiyangtse on January 20.

In Gasa, Haa, and Lhuentse where there is only one candidate each, the debate will be held with the audience asking one question and the moderator asking another question.

Meanwhile the only candidate in Gasa, Sangay Khandu said he will be filing his nomination papers on Monday. Sangay Khandu is from Choling village under Goenkhatoe gewog.

The 29-year-old has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand. He worked as the Performance Manager with the Bhutan Power Corporation.
