January 29: The 44-year-old man who was hit by an arrow yesterday has died. The man was from Sisina in Thimphu. He was admitted in the intensive care unit of the national referral hospital yesterday after he was hit by an arrow.
Speaking to BBS yesterday, Dr. Tashi Tenzin, a neurosurgeon with the national referral hospital said the man has been hit by the arrow above the left eye piercing deep into the brain.
He said it has caused excessive bleeding and damaged the brain severely.
Dr. Tashi Tenzin said the arrow had been removed before the man was brought to the hospital.
He said the damage would be less severe if the arrow is removed surgically in the hospital.
