October 08: Phuentsholing police have detained a man for killing a neighbour whom he suspected of having an extramarital affair with his wife. The incident took place on Saturday night, October 6.

They were reportedly drinking in a bar run by the accused at Sadumadu village under Phuentsholing geog when the accused stabbed the deceased.

Except for the wife of the accused who was in the kitchen and the two men who were in the bar, there was nobody.

Around 9:20 pm, other villagers heard a commotion and rushed to the bar. They found the deceased bleeding profusely from a deep stab wound in the abdomen.

They immediately rushed him to the hospital which is about one and half hour’s drive from the village. He died on the way to the hospital.

The deceased, a widower in his early forties, is survived by his wife and five children, four of whom are from his previous wife. The accused also in his early forties has four children.
