Latest developments into the RICBL case

December 30: The high court has said the four men who were terminated from the job cannot be reinstated. The ex-employees of RICBL were terminated for claiming fake medical bills. The four re-appealed to the high court as they were not satisfied with the trial verdict.

According to the high court, the four were terminated from their job in accordance with due process of law. The high court upheld the administrative decision taken by the RICBL to terminate as lawful and not arbitrary.

On false medical claims, by six other employees, the court asked the RICBL to recover the amount. The court also said that administrative action must be taken against those involved.

The court also issued directives to the RICBL management to review the financial system to avoid similar problems in future.

While on the TA/DA case, the high court said the employees did not claim more than what they are entitled to as per their service rules. The High court dismissed the Office of the Attorney General’s appeal that these people will have to repay the claims. The High Court in its verdict said the claims were paid as per the bills.
