Landslide damages three houses in Trongsa
September 15: Three houses have been damaged in Trongsa by the recent incessant rainfall.

Last week, five houses were damaged by landslides in Dagana. Two men were also killed, one was buried alive when his house collapsed under the weigh of a landslide and the other got washed away by river.

The rain is wrecking havoc across the kingdom triggering landslides, disrupting road communication and damaging homes.

This week, three houses were damaged in Trongsa by the torrential rain. The rain triggered a landslide causing the protection wall below the houses to give way. There were however no casualties.

Our correspondent Kunzang Yeshey says the occupants have all been evacuated after they noticed cracks in the walls of their house.

Landslides are a common problem during the monsoon in Trongsa. Our reporter says this is mainly due to the sloppy nature of landscape.

Meanwhile the road blocks along the Trongsa-Zhemgang highway have been cleared and the road is now open to traffic. Falling boulders have also caused minor damages to many vehicles stranded on the way.
