November 3: His Majesty the King granted an audience to a delegation from the World Bank led by the Managing Director, Graeme Wheeler at the Tashichodzong yesterday.

The six member delegation is led by the Managing Director, Graeme Wheeler.

They arrived in the Kingdom on a four day visit yesterday morning.

Mr. Graeme Wheeler joined the World Bank in 1997 as the Director of the Financial Products and Services Department.

Currently Mr. Wheeler is also responsible for Poverty Reduction and Economic Management, Financial and Private Sector Development and Human Resource and General Services Department of the World Bank.

Mr. Wheeler is a recipient of the Best Manager Award in the World Bank.

While in the Kingdom the delegation will visit Gaselo Middle Secondary school in Wangduephodrang.

Today they will inaugurate the Kharsadrapchu middle secondary school complex. Both schools were funded by the World Bank. The World Bank is one of the important development partners of Bhutan.

Its assistance is mainly focused in infrastructure building and private sector development.
