June 12: His Majesty the King granted an audience to the ambassador of Pakistan to Bhutan Mr. Alamgir Bashar Khan Babar yesterday.

Ambassador Alamgir Bashar Khan Babar arrived in the kingdom on a four day visit on Monday.

He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980. After serving in various missions abroad, he was promoted as a director in the Pakistani Foreign Ministry in 1997.

He was appointed as the ambassador of Pakistan to Bhutan in 2005. Before that he served as a director general in the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

The Pakistani ambassador also called on the Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley and the Foreign Minister Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering.
