July 21: The consecration ceremony of Jangchub chorten at Ngakeythang in Lhuentse began on Saturday, July 19.
Presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo, Lam Netens of Lhuentse, Pemagatshel, Trashigang, Trashiyantgse, Monggar and monks of Lhuentse Rabdey are performing the three day consecration ceremony.
The Chorten, which is 51 feet tall and 27 feet wide, was constructed as part of the centenary celebrations, the coronation of His Majesty the King and the success of democracy.
The Chorten was constructed at a cost of over Nu. two million.
Initiated by the Dzongkhag administration and the rabdey, the funds were donated by the public and private individuals.
In the afternoon, His Holiness the Je Khenpo administered tse-wang to the public.
