August 6: His Holiness the Je khenpo awarded Tashi Khadhar to Lam Namgay Wangchuk at the Tashichhodzong yesterday morning appointing him as the Lam of Lungtenphu Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) Headquarter in Thimphu.

Lam Namgay Wangchuk, former Monggar Rabdey Lam Neten is from Wangduephodrang.

Lam Namgay Wangchuk joined the monk body at the age of six. He studied under several renowned Buddhist scholars including His Holiness Late Je Geshey Geduen Rinchen, His Holiness Je Thrizur and His Holiness the Je Khenpo Trulku Jigme Choedra.

Lam Namgay Wangchuk has also served as Trashigang Rabdey Lam Neten.
