January 21: Four explosions took place in four different parts of the Kingdom yesterday, January 20.
The first explosion occurred at 11.10 am near the weekend vegetable market in Samtse. It was followed by an explosion near the SNS restaurant in Thimphu at around 11.45am.
The impact of the explosion in Thimphu damaged window panes of a few nearby buildings but caused no injuries.
At 1.20 pm, another explosion occurred near the gate of the Tala Guest House at Gedu under Chukha Dzongkhag. A woman was hit by a splinter on her right leg. She has been admitted in Gedu hospital.
The fourth explosion occurred about an hour later in Dagapela under Dagana Dzongkhag.
Apart from the minor injury to the woman in Gedu, there were no casualties or injuries.
The Royal Bhutan Police are investigating the case. A RBP spokesperson said one of the three militant organizations based in Nepal, the Bhutan Tiger Force, Bhutan Maoist Party, and the Communist Party of Bhutan are suspected to be behind the explosions. |
