Foreign Ministry appoints Ambassadors

January 23: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed new Ambassadors in Belgium, Thailand, Kuwait and Dhaka.

Ambassador Sonam T. Rabgye, the former Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva has been appointed as the Ambassador of Bhutan to Belgium with concurrent accreditation to Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and the European Union and the European Commission.

Ambassador Tshering Dorji, the former Ambassador to Bangladesh has been appointed as the Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand with concurrent accreditation to Australia and Singapore.

The Cabinet Secretary Dasho Sherub Tenzin has been appointed as the Ambassador of Bhutan to Kuwait with concurrent accreditation to Bahrain.

The RCSC Secretary Dasho Bap Kesang has been appointed as the Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh with concurrent accreditation to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Korea and Maldives.

Bhutan today has diplomatic relations with 22 countries and the European Union with resident Missions in New Delhi, Dhaka, Bangkok, Kuwait, New York and Geneva.

A resident Mission of Bhutan in Brussels will be opened shortly.
