December 11: In Bumthang, five men between the ages of 20 and 26 have been sentenced to two months in prison for involvement in a gang fight.

On the night of September 15, the five men beat up three men at two discotheques. They were apprehended by the police on the September 17. Since then they were kept under police custody.

As per the court verdict which was passed yesterday, they also have to pay Nu. 5,000 each as compensation to the three men they beat up.

Since they have already spent two months and two days under detention, they will not have to serve the prison sentence.

According to the court verdict, they can appeal within ten days if they are not happy with the court’s decision.
