Farmers in Lodumba village, Dagana take part in land management

October 14: Soil erosion, landslide and flashfloods are common in Lodumba village in Dagana. To prevent land degradation, Agriculture officials are conducting a 10-day-training on community land management.

The Lodumba village in Dagana is located an hour and half from the nearest motor-able road.

Agriculture officials say the terrain is steep and soil fertility poor.

The inhabitants are therefore leaving for other places in search of greener pastures.

Once a thriving village of 50 households, it now has only 26 households.

Agriculture officials are conducting a community land management training for the villagers to help prevent land degradation from soil erosion and flashfloods.

After the training, the village land management committee will conduct land management programs regularly.
