June 9: 12 Indian labourers were killed after a huge boulder fell on a tripper truck they were traveling in at Wangkha, near the Tala Dam in Chhukha.
10 were killed on the spot. Two died after reaching the Tsimasham hospital.
The accident took place at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
There were 18 Indian labourers in the truck. The other six have been injured, two seriously. Four are being treated at the Tsimasham hospital. Two have been referred to the national referral hospital.
Also yesterday, a 22-year-old man who was working as a truck handy boy died in an accident at Sisiding about three kilometers from Thinleygang. The accident occurred while the truck was giving way to an approaching vehicle from the opposite direction.
The truck fell about 250 feet below the road. The driver has been admitted in the national referral hospital. Another man who was also working as a handy boy escaped with minor injuries.
