April 6: Chief Election Commissioner Dasho Kunzang Wangdi gave certificates of election to the President of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa Jigmi Y. Thinley yesterday morning.

The function was attended by election officials and DPT party members.

Dasho Kunzang Wangdi said the Commission and everyone involved in the conduct of the election are happy with the success of the election.

The DPT president Jigmi Y. Thinley said the credit for the success of the historic election should go to the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB).

He said the ECB took a firm stand in dealing with the complaints filed by the two parties. He said the verdicts and warnings issued by the Election Commission were all done in earnest.
