February 19: The Election Commission has extended the registration date for postal ballots. Eligible postal voters can now register with the Election Commission latest by February 25. ECB will issue a supplementary eligible postal voters’ list on February 26.
It will include the names of eligible postal voters who have registered with the Election Commission between February 7-25.
The deadline for postal ballot application has also been extended to March 1. Postal ballot applications should now reach the respective returning officers by March 1.
ECB will commence issuing postal ballots from February 20.
A news release from the Election Commission says the deadlines are being extended so that students, trainees, teachers, and lecturers can take part in the National Assembly Elections.
Postal voters can also send the postal ballot application forms via email to their respective returning officers.
