December 15: This time of the year, a large number of people from various parts of the country visit Phuentsholing. Many move to the border town to escape the winter cold. Others come to shop or on short holidays. But this winter, Phuentsholing may not seem as attractive.

Our reporter Tenzin Wangda says with numerous constructions and repair works taking place the roads are filled with potholes and the town is a dusty place.

If you are driving around the Phuentsholing town especially at night you should be extra careful. The roads are riddled with potholes with so many agencies either carrying out repair and maintenance works or constructing new infrastructure.

The problem could not come at a worse time. At this time of the year, a large number of people from various parts of the country come to Phuentsholing to beat the cold or do some shopping.

The constructions and repair works are also making the road dusty. Pedestrians complain that the road is to dusty to walk around. Traffic congestion has become more frequent due to the construction work in various part of the town.

With the flu season creeping in, the dust has only aggravated the problem.

For the time being the agencies which are carrying out the construction works are doing what they can to help restore the road. But soon the City Corporation will be installing street lights and the digging will start all over again.
