September 07: Druk Phuensum Tshogpa has confirmed the names of 37 candidates for the parliamentary election. They are in the process of finalizing the names of the remaining ten candidates.

The spokesperson of the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa Lyonpo khandu Wangchuk announced the names of the candidates yesterday. He said the selection of the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa candidates has been delayed by the transfer of the candidate’s census.

The deadline for transferring the census was July 31 and Druk Phuensum Tshogpa was established in early August.

He said many potential candidates are not able to run from their constituencies as their census was not moved prior to July 31.

The party has requested the Election Commission to review the census transfer to have all their candidates to contest the 2008 elections.
