Druk Phuensum Tshogpa President meets people in Chongshing |
September 20: The President of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa, former Nangsi Lyonpo Jigme Thinley, met with the people of Chongshing village under Khar Yurung constituency in Pema Gatshel yesterday.
More than hundred people attended the meeting. Talking to the gathering, he said the people must use their vote wisely.
He said people have to look at what the different political parties have to offer in terms of socio economic development and the party’s aims and objectives before deciding who they want to vote for.
He assured the gathering that the DPT will serve the people with dedication. The party president said road communication must be enhanced to accelerate socio economic development in Pemagatshel. He said the acute drinking water problem in Chongshing needs to be addressed and the schools at Tsebar and Yurung upgraded.
The problem of wild boar destroying crops will also be solved, he said. The Pemagatshel General Hospital would receive additional doctors and two ambulances during the 10 plan period.
The people identified a basic health unit as one of their development priorities.
They also asked for WFP assistance for the school and a RNR office to improve livestock and farm production.
They proposed for a school at Yomzor and a Lhakhang at Chongshing.
The DPT candidate for Khar Yurung constituency Zangley Drukpa urged the people to elect a government which will serve the people with dedication.
The DPT president will be heading for Dungmin from Chongshing. |
