October 26: Denmark is providing 140 million Danish Kroners, around Nu. 1,000 million, to the health and education sector in the 10th five year plan. An agreement to this effect was signed yesterday morning by the Planning Secretary Karma Tshiteem and the head of the liaison office of Denmark Mr. Henrik Nielsen.
A news release from the Planning Commission says 76% of the assistance will be used for the health and education sectors.
Around 11% will be used to strengthen vocational education and training.
The remainder has been earmarked for administration, reviews, and technical assistance.
The Danish support program in the health sector began in 1989 and the education sector in 2003.
The health sector received 336 million Danish Kroners and the education sector 87 million Danish Kroners.
